Officials Description
The following jobs require training that is provided by the Rappahhanock Swim League (RSL). You must complete the training class AND pass the exam to be a certified meet official.
Computer– Runs the computer during the meets, entering times and printing off results. Experience with 10 key is beneficial with this job.
Clerk of Course - In charge of seeding and organizing the swimmers in the proper swimming order including on the ready bench.
Referee - The official in charge of the swim meet. The Referee has the final decision regarding disputes involving rules and regulations.
Starter - Calls swimmers to the starting blocks and starts each heat; responsible for calling false starts.
Stroke & Turn Officials - Ensure that the swimmers perform the strokes and turns of each event correctly. They can disqualify a swimmer for using improper stroke or turn techniques.

•June 1st 6:30 pm Aquia Harbor
•June 3rd 9:00 am Fawn Lake
•June 10th 9:00 am Hampton Oaks
•June 15th 6:00 pm Hopyard
